Distinction between Jaw Crusher and Impact Crusher
May 07, 2012
Among the most commonly used crushing equipments, shaft impact crusher and hammer crushers are mainly for crushing fragile materials, that is why they are called impact crusher. Impact crusher is the special equipment for producing building sand, especially for the secondary and fine crushing of grinding materials, fireproofing materials, cement, quarts sand, steel shot, slag powder, copper ore, gold ore, pebbles, aggregates, asphalt aggregates, etc. It is efficient and energy-saving gravel sand equipment.
Compared with other crushers such as jaw crusher, cone crusher, and roll crusher, impact crusher has the following characters.
1. High ratio of reduction: the ratio of reduction of impact crusher is above 50, while the ratio of cone crusher and roll crusher is below 20.
2. Good product particles: Under the hammering action, the broken material often splinter along its most vulnerable level, such selective fragmentation method, the particles have a high probability to form a cube drought, so the flakiness percentage content of impact crusher may be lower than 10%, while those of jaw, cone and roll crusher will be higher than 15% .
These characteristics above make impact crusher play a significant role in numerous crushing equipments.
Compared with other crushers, impact crusher has many advantages, while there are also some existing defects. As the fact that impact crusher adopts the impact theory for crushing materials, its impact tools such as hammerhead, plate hammer, impact plate, etc are easy to abrade. These defects in quite a long period of time restrict the application scope of impact crusher. With the application of new wear-resistant material, and the research and improvement to the components and parts of impact crusher, the service life of impact crusher is prolonged to a large extent
